We chose to highlight the vintage aspects of the building, keeping the glass block and steel beams in tact and part of the design.

A West Town Studio Built for the Design Community
Studio Hub is a coworking space made for the people who make design; freelance and small-business creatives who want a professional home base and a community to match. Kuchar designed the West Town space around that mission, giving members better access to the materials, products, and industry connections their work depends on. At its center is the Library, a working resource of finishes and samples where manufacturers visit each week to show what is new. Around it sit spaces scaled to how designers actually work: focused desks for heads-down hours, meeting rooms named Biggie and Smallz for teams of eight or five, and an open kitchen table for the looser conversations where ideas tend to start. The result is a workspace that feels less like an office rental and more like a studio built for collaboration.
Office interior design has moved well beyond rows of desks and closed doors. The strongest workplaces today are built around how people actually use them, balancing focus and collaboration, privacy and openness, so a space can flex through the day. For a coworking environment, that balance is everything; the design has to serve dozens of different working styles at once while still reading as one cohesive brand. Thoughtful workplace design also does quiet work for a business — shaping culture, signaling values, and giving members a reason to choose one space over another.
