Project Architect:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in architecture.

  • 5-10 years of professional experience, preferably with interiors experience.

  • Professionally licensed in Illinois

  • Strong knowledge of building codes

  • Knowledge of construction documentation and observation.

  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong knowledge and experience using:

    • Revit

    • AutoCad

    • Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

    • Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities:

  • Work with design team during the design phases to ensure projects meet local code requirements.

  • Work with the design team during the design phase to create unique architectural details and confirm feasibly.  

  • Spearhead construction documents.

  • Redline drawing sets for quality control.

  • Mentor design staff.

  • Coordinate drawing sets with consultants.

  • Manage site visit coordination and follow up.

  • Manage punchlists.

  • Manage construction administration, including coordinating submittal, shop drawing and RFI returns.

  • Stamp permit drawings and work with city officials or permit expediters to obtain permits.

Residential Project/ Senior Project Designer:

  • Associates degree in Interior Design

  • 5-10+ years professional experience in residential interior design 

  • Strong knowledge and experience specifying furniture, fixtures and materials

  • Strong Multi-tasking skills

  • Strong communication skills, both internally with Kuchar staff and externally with clients, contractors and consultants

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Experience in construction documentation and observation.

  • Strong knowledge and experience using:

    • AutoCad

    • Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

    • Microsoft Excel and Word

    • Revit experience preferred, but not required 

Responsibilities:

  • Take our client’s goals, vision and programmatic needs and see that they are implemented throughout the project process.  

  • Communicate with and foster strong relationships with clients.

  • Develop design concepts and effectively communicate those to design staff.  Ensure project concept is cohesive throughout the project process.

  • Source materials, furniture and fixtures with a unique perspective.

  • Take an active role in design presentations as well as coordinating content of presentations with the Kuchar team.

  • Work with consultants and vendors to fully develop and coordinate the project design.

  • Produce and coordinate construction documents for architectural interiors projects.

  • Mentor junior staff, fostering growth and career opportunities.

Procurement Coordinator:

  • Associates degree

  • 2-4 years professional experience in interior design procurement

  • Knowledge and experience procuring items in the interior design field

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong communication skills, both internally with Kuchar staff and externally with clients and vendors.

  • Strong knowledge and experience using:

    • Procurement Software

    • Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with design staff on product specifications to ensure all details are captured.

  • Sources product for design staff when required

  • Prepares installation documentation.

  • Requests quotes from vendors based on designer provided specifications

  • Creates purchase orders and issues to vendors

  • Schedules rep visits, coordinating timing with vendors and Kuchar staff.
