iHeartRadio - Lollapalooza
Inspired by the Chicago landscape that surrounds the Lollapalooza scene and the energy of the crowd at a festival, our media tent for iHeartRadio was a crafted experience. Paper lanterns overhead are inspired by beach balls at a concert and create a soft ceiling overhead. A metallic silver drapery softens the walls and adds a moment of glam. This booth was a highly experiential vibe that allowed artists to have fun and relax while being interviewed before or after their set!

A Broadcast Tent Designed for the Camera and the Crowd
The iHeartMedia Artist Tent at Lollapalooza is a 10-by-10-foot media space inside Grant Park's Artist Village, where performers step away from the festival to record interviews with iHeart's Chicago stations — 103.5 KissFM, WGCI, and Rock 95.5. iHeartMedia had operated the tent for years, but the brief to Kuchar was direct: the space had never felt designed, and the client wanted that to change. Kuchar approached the project less as a temporary booth and more as a three-dimensional mood board — small in footprint, precise in execution, and built to flex across genres, read well on camera, and energize artists the moment they stepped inside. The finished interior holds its own against the scale and intensity of the festival just beyond its walls.

Experiential design in Chicago demands more than a backdrop. It calls for an interior that performs in person and on camera, communicates a brand's identity within seconds, and remains adaptable across hours of programming. Brand activation design for media partners is especially exacting; the environment must read as polished from every angle, accommodate seated or standing interviews, and reflect light in a way that flatters every subject on the lens. The strongest experiential interiors rely on theatrical fabrics, sculptural overhead elements, and a restrained material palette that allows the subjects — not the set — to lead the frame. Calibrated for the camera and the crowd at once, even a compact footprint can carry the presence of a much larger stage.
A Chicago Design Partner Built for the Spotlight
Hospitality interior design is at the heart of every space Kuchar shapes for an audience, and the team brings more than 90 years of combined industry experience to brand activations, broadcast sets, and the guest-facing interiors that frame them. We pair architectural rigor with curated materials to deliver spaces that welcome, perform, and elevate — for the artist, the camera, and the brand.
