The modern home office was reimagined with custom wall paneling and cabinetry that fits the owners needs. Just beyond, a modern bathroom was designed to be bright and masculine. A subtle color accent was brought in the shower tile with a coordinating marble accent in the shelving and custom vanit top.

This residence sits in Green Oaks, Illinois — a Lake County village in Chicago's North Shore region known for its country-living character, mature landscapes, and substantial single-family homes. Kuchar is reimagining the property in phases, beginning with the rooms that anchor the family's daily life: a dedicated home office and a primary bathroom. The home office was rebuilt around custom wall paneling and bespoke cabinetry calibrated to the way the owners actually work, with a modern aesthetic that holds its own against the more traditional architecture surrounding it. The bathroom was renovated in the same disciplined register — bright, deeply tonal, and grounded in coordinated marble shelving, a custom vanity top, and a shower tile with a single, deliberate color accent.
